Lightning Pay Named a Finalist for Startup of the Year

SU of the Year

We're very excited to announce that Lightning Pay has been named among the finalists for Startup of the Year for the Web3NZ+BlockchainNZ Awards for 2024!

"The Startup of the Year award celebrates a groundbreaking business that has launched within the last two years and has made significant strides in the Web3 space. This award recognizes a startup that has demonstrated exceptional innovation, agility, and potential for growth. The recipient has not only introduced a unique product or service but has also shown a commitment to solving real-world problems through the application or use of decentralised internet technologies."

The past 8 months since we launched Lightning Pay, we've been hard at work building a bridge between Bitcoin and the traditional financial system in New Zealand, and we take a lot of pride in the foundation that we've established so far.

  • We've built the fastest, easiest, and cheapest way to buy and sell Bitcoin in New Zealand.
  • Our Auto-Buy feature allows you to automatically purchase bitcoin on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
  • Bill Pay allows you to create your own payees, pay your bills in bitcoin, and your payee receives dollars the next business day.
  • Our merchant POS and Hosted Payments allow merchants across New Zealand to accept bitcoin payments via the Lightning Network, and receive New Zealand dollars.

Voting for the Web3NZ+BlockchainNZ awards for 2024 is being conducted on the Web3NZ Circle community forum. If you're not already part of the community, you will need to join in order to cast a vote, and we would be grateful if you take the time to vote for Lightning Pay as Startup of the Year.

We're very happy to be named a finalist for Startup of the year, a great recognition of what we've built so far, and its unique place, not only in New Zealand, but in the global bitcoin ecosystem. There is much more to come, and we can't wait to share our plans for how we are going to further connect New Zealand to the Bitcoin network.
