New Features: Bill Pay and Passkeys

We're stoked to bring you some exciting updates that'll make your Lightning Pay experience even better. We've been hard at work, and we reckon you'll love what we've cooked up.

New Feature: Passkeys

Say goodbye to those pesky OTP 2FA codes! We've just rolled out passkeys, a more secure and convenient way to access your account. Here's what you need to know:

No more OTP faff: Passkeys replace the need for one-time passwords, making logging in and making trades a breeze.

Stronger security: Passkeys offer top-notch protection against phishing and other cyber nasties.

Easy setup: It's simple to switch to passkeys – just follow the prompts under the Security tab in the My Account menu. Find the button that looks like this: 

Introducing: Bill Pay

We're chuffed to announce our new Bill Pay feature! Now you can pay any NZ bill using bitcoin. How good is that – we’re one step closer to living on a Bitcoin standard! 

Pay any NZ bill: From power to rates, phone, internet and even credit cards. If it's a Kiwi bill with a kiwi bank account, you can pay it with Lightning Pay. It’s quick and easy - just enter the bill details, and we'll sort the rest. Bill payments is available at the top of the page when you’re logged in to Lightning Pay.
